Dark Ages continue this fall.

Who would best illustrate this fall’s goth-rock styles than Marlon Brando or James Dean with the tongues of fire on their Harley’s, their black leather jackets and their numerous metallic studs all over their jeans?

Leather, metallic studs, drapes are all coming back this fall as goth style rocks on the cat walks of Balmain, Gucci, Boss Black, Sonia Rykiel, Viva Vox, Alexander Wang. As I go through the photos of the fall designer collection, I notice more and more that the jackets and boots with studs do not necessary have to be black in order to look rock-chic! This time it’s white and beige that dominate in designs by Emilio Pucci, Fendi and Rodarte. This fact does not make their collections less Gothic!

Oh, and goth jewelry is not all about skulls and bones, black flowers look as expressive and dark as any skeletons and demons. Need an example? Look at Stephen Webster collections or De Beers’.

We all know that shiny sequin dresses are no longer evening dresses, but rather have become regulars in day wear. And of course the little black dress now absolutely must be made of leather. How about this – the more feminine it gets the better? So, let’s put on our cigarette pants(or black skinny jeans), sky high heels with crystals instead of metallic studs and maybe that peaked-shoulder Balmain jacket to complete the look.
